What happens when our experience seems to extend beyond our usual sense of self and how can therapists work with these moments while remaining grounded, relational, and clinically responsible?
This workshop explores where Gestalt therapy meets transpersonal experience. We connect present-moment experience (phenomenology), relationships and environment (field theory), and relational contact with transpersonal concepts such as integrating opposites, moving beyond usual ego identification, and non-dual awareness.
Through discussion, experiential exercises, and somatic practice, participants explore polarity and integration; presence and expanded awareness; and relationship, ethics, and culture. Special attention is given to distinguishing grounded expansion, where presence, contact, and choice remain available, from dissociative withdrawal, where contact may be disrupted.
Designed for clinicians, Gestalt students and trainees, educators, holistic practitioners, and those exploring mind, relationship, and spirit. No prior transpersonal training is required.

Participants completing this workshop will be able to:
1.Define transpersonal experience within a Gestalt phenomenological and field-theory framework.
2. Explain ego and creative adjustment within Gestalt theory as they relate to movement beyond ego identification.
3. Demonstrate somatic awareness practices that expand phenomenological awareness within Gestalt practice.
4. Discuss non-dual awareness as it arises within the Gestalt relational field.
5. Explain how an I–Thou relational stance supports transpersonal contact while maintaining relational grounding.
6. Describe processes for integrating polarities within relational and intrapsychic experience.
7. Identify ethical and cultural considerations, including boundaries and scope of practice, relevant to transpersonal exploration in psychotherapy.
8. Apply somatic and phenomenological awareness practices through structured experiential exercises and reflective dialogue.
9. Distinguish ethical discernment strategies for maintaining professional boundaries when working with expanded states of awareness in psychotherapy.

Licensed professional counselors; social workers; marriage and family therapists; psychologists; graduate students in counseling, psychology, or social work; coaches, consultants, and other professionals interested in Gestalt-based relational practice; Gestalt students and trainees; educators; holistic practitioners; and those exploring mind, relationship, and spirit. Prior familiarity with psychotherapy or Gestalt may be helpful, but formal Gestalt training is not required

To receive a refund for your cancellation:
30 or more days prior to your start date, you will be eligible to receive a full refund minus a processing fee.
This processing fee is 4% of total amount.14 or more days prior to your start date, you will be eligible to be refunded 50% of the reservation total.
Cancellations less than 14 days prior to the start date of the workshop or program, credits may be offered at the discretion of the Institute. If the reason for your cancellation is considered an emergency, this will be taken into consideration upon submission of required documentation.
Credits issued in lieu of a refund must be used within 12 months of the original program or workshop start date. After this period, any unused credit will expire and will no longer be valid. Extensions will not be granted.
In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified at least two weeks prior to the workshop start date.
