Advanced GEW - Gestalt Experience Workshop

This workshop is designed for those who have experienced a prior Gestalt Experience Workshop or Personal Growth Groups in our Gestalt Training Programs.

As we begin to peel the layers of our complex selves and assimilate the new awareness, we find ourselves more willing to risk to learn a bit more. The Johari Window is the perfect depiction of what can be achieved in this advanced Gestalt Experience Workshop. The ultimate goal is to uncover your hidden potential. That comes about as we learn to appropriately disclose more about ourselves and be open to receiving well-crafted feedback. Interpersonal relationships are increasingly more important and complex. Unleashing our hidden potential will have a profound impact on how we relate to others effectively to advance our professional careers and enrich or personal lives. Relating well is based upon using our capacities to be self-aware, curious and open to another's experience and viewpoint, as well as having the skills to communicate effectively in order to influence with integrity.

Our skilled faculty facilitators create a space in which to explore, observe, practice and discuss interpersonal interactions. In addition, core elements of Gestalt methods are reviewed to help you integrate your learnings.

This is a potentially transformative weekend that offers an opportunity to take some of the mystery out of creating and sustaining more satisfying professional and interpersonal relationships.

This workshop is designed/appropriate for all professionals including: Counselors, social workers, psychologists, physicians, nurses, and art and music therapists. Coaches, managers, supervisors and others with prior experience in Gestalt workshops may also be interested.

Learning Objectives:

● Participants completing this workshop will be able to:Experience interactive processes, based on Gestalt theory that are rooted in the present moment;

● Experiment with elements of embodied presence, such as: using the breath, body posture and movement;

● Explore the ways your behavior affects others;

● Describe how interpersonal interactions with others affects you;

● Recognize the unintended consequences interpersonal interactions may have;

● Observe the process of dialogue from a Gestalt perspective;

● Practice using Gestalt methods to make meaningful contact with others;

● Summarize 3 basic Gestalt principles or methods that may be applied in your work; and

● Identify one or two new ideas or behaviors you will take away from this workshop.
