Lois Meredith, Ph.D.

Suppose you could enhance your presence and increase your influence by developing your use of language and the quality of your voice?
How do the sound, tone quality, vocal range and color of your voice impact others? How do you use your voice and language to join with, or to challenge your clients? What is the range and variety of words you use? How do you arrange these words in a sentence? How can you support a client whose voice and expressions are limiting success? How does the way you express yourself impact your relationships?  Can you fully express your longing, anger, playfulness, despair and desire?
If you are curious about these questions and interested in developing your own voice and language, and those of your clients, this workshop is for you!
Dr. Lois Meredith combines her training in psycho-physical theatre, her experience as writer, director, and actor, as well her skill as an effective therapist to create a rich experience for participants.
You will learn how the structure of our language (vocabulary, syntax, complexity, density, and clarity) “expresses" who we are.   You will explore the elements of speech and language, such as: intonation and enunciation, the relationship of voice to breathing, posture and physical impulse, and the dynamics of voice production.   This is an in-depth experience in working on one of our most important “contact” functions, often taken for granted.

Finally, we will create Gestalt experiments of new ways of being, expanding our presence in the world and the impact we have.   Join us for this unique developmental experience.

Testimonial: “One of my students had a very high-pitched, child-like speaking voice before taking Lois Meredith’s workshop. After this workshop, her voice was deeper and adult-sounding. It remained deep and resonant thereafter. I thought it was miraculous. More importantly the shift made a difference the student’s presence and her future in the corporate world.”

— Lynne Kweder

Previous experience with Gestalt methods will be helpful, but are not required.

Who should attend: Therapists, Coaches, Teachers, Managers of all kinds, graduate students and professionals who use their voice and language to influence and inform others. This workshop is also appropriate for individuals wanting to expand their interpersonal communication skills and expressive repertoire.
