When children come into our offices we have the privilege of being with them as they are in their unique place and time in development. Most often there are issues in the family or in their lives, and the child is having a lived experience of what it’s like to be in this context.

Our responsibility as clinicians is to affirm and validate the lived meaning of the child the way they need us to understand the life they are situated in. They carry these lived experiences with them in their bodies and in their minds. These experiences are revealed in play, relationships, and dreams.

In this workshop we will explore ways to work with children by supporting them to fully express  what they hold in their bodies, keep as secrets, or act out in play with friends or in the family.

This workshop is designed for all levels of mental health professionals.  Others are welcome.
