During this 5 week series, you will learn to incorporate a Gestalt mindfulness practice in movement as a Gestalt self-as-instrument set of skills for embodied presence. Mindfulness and Neuroscience research shows how a mindfulness practice of embodied presence to the self and others helps us to deal with complex interpersonal relationships in our ever-changing and uncertain world. We will learn how to apply the integration of a mindfulness practice that supports both a therapeutic and a coaching presence as well as client transformation. We integrate Gestalt methodology with Chi Kung, Yoga, Energy Medicine, Sound (chant) and Breath in a mindfulness movement meditation practice.

This series is open to Gestalt practitioners, coaches, counselors, individuals and couples who want to co-create a mindfulness practice that supports being an embodied presence in one's life, work and relationships.

  • October 27, 2018 - Mindfulness in Breathing and Sounding (chanting) and Presence in Connecting Within Self/Other/Field
  • November 3, 2018 - Mindfulness in Attuning and Resonating, Attending and Witnessing with Self and Other
  • November 10, 2018 - Mindfulness in Gathering Energy and Emptying, Holding Space and Releasing Energy
  • November 17, 2018 - Mindfulness in Being a Dynamic Embodied Presence in life, work and relationship.

This workshop is designed for all levels of mental health professionals. Others are welcome.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion, you will be able to:

  • Discuss scholarly literature relevant to clinical applications of mindfulness informed therapy;
  • Describe advantages of practicing mindfulness-informed therapy in therapeutic relationships;
  • Apply to therapeutic & other human interactions the Gestalt principles that describe mindfulness as embodied awareness of the self, the other and the relational field of being;
  • Practice the above model of mindfulness individually and in community;
  • Apply this model to clinical situations including anxiety, depression & post-traumatic stress, addiction recovery, and family discord; and
  • Discuss clinical/coaching outcomes of applications observed in your practice over the course of the workshops.
