Successful facilitation depends on authentic presence, the inner quality of the awareness, attention and intention of the agent of change, and the quality of the relational alliance with the client system. This workshop offers experiential learning focusing on six Gestalt and ICF facilitation competencies that support the development of the inner place from which the facilitator operates within the coaching, therapeutic, change agent and leadership relationship.

This workshop will incorporate concepts and experiences from: Gestalt theory, ICF principles, positive psychology theory, and experiential learning with horses in nature. The format includes presentation, dialogue, experiential learning, and practice sessions. The venue will be in natural settings; both indoors and out in nature.

Learning Objectives
Participants completing this workshop will be able to:

  • Learn facilitation concepts and competencies from Gestalt, ICF and positive psychology;
  • Enhance authentic and relational presence with clients by developing the inner place from which we operate;
  • Practice communicating with awareness of body language and embodied presence;
  • Listen and engage with empathy to create the conditions for the best possible outcome to emerge;
  • Create an ethical relational alliance with the client and hold a sacred space of efficacy from a positive, appreciative, curious and strength based approach;
  • Pay attention to the social field, four levels of system and a 360 perspective of the field; and
  • Attend to embodied language for more accurate and authentic communication with client systems.
