Description

Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "Power properly understood is nothing but the ability to achieve purpose...power without love is reckless and abusive, and love without power is sentimental and anemic...It is precisely this collision of immoral power with powerless morality which constitutes the major crisis of our time."

This workshop is an immersion into the application of core principles of Gestalt, focusing on how to maximize use of self to transform congregations.

  • Participants will learn to attend to self and others in a manner that increases availability for dialogue and relationship.
  • Participants will learn to recognize resistance in their congregants and congregations.
  • Participants will learn to support resistance in the service of creating opportunity for change.
  • Participants learn to experience and identify simple shifts in perspective and notice how choices emerge from this process.
  • Participants will learn how to apply the above knowledge in order to influence change within their congregations and the communities.
